Sarah E. Soliz, Founder & CEO
I started my career by starting a business. As a freelance editor, I worked for academic presses, as well as individual scholars, across the country. Eventually, I became a publisher and oversaw a small scholarly press embedded within a social science–oriented research institution. After starting a second master’s degree in business administration, I was recruited into a biomedical startup to support their business development, and here I learned to write proposals. After leaving, I founded a new company, Labyrinth Consulting, to use what I learned to support other startups in the small business ecosystem.
At Labyrinth Consulting, I work with startups and small businesses who need seed capital but don’t have the time or expertise to navigate the maze of grant funding. I offer services ranging from grant research to reviewing and everything in between, including strategy, coaching, writing, and training. In addition to my years as a writer and editor, I have the actual startup experience that other grant writers lack, and I support each client with tailored services, no matter where they are in their fundraising journey. My varied career path has given me an unusual breadth and depth of experience. Contact me to learn how I can help you find your way to funding.
